My Journey
2025 🇮🇪 Left OnLoop in April to pursue independent ventures. Traveled to Melbourne with Felicia's family, worked on Arbimate, visited USA, witnessed Felicia's computer engineering graduation with honours in Singapore. Made a vow in March to never return to the dark place I was in. Now relocated to Dublin, Ireland with Felicia who joined Amazon. Currently seeking engineering roles while serving as Fractional CTO for TeachLoop (UAE) and HireRite (Singapore). Building YeetCode boilerplate for South African developers.
2024 🌪️ A year of extremes - built Arbimate while staying at my parents' house in the USA, uncertain about life direction. This became my most successful product, now reaching 8,000+ users. Founded Epictetus Research while traveling in and out of Singapore (struggling with employment pass). Built CounterAI through OnLoop connections. Launched failed micro-SaaS experiments but learned valuable lessons. Went through a dark period from October - made personal mistakes, drinking, hurt people close to me. Met Felicia's parents in December, visited Semarang, Indonesia for the first time.
2023 🇺🇸 Parents moved from Singapore to the USA, ending their Singapore chapter. I continued working at OnLoop while navigating employment pass challenges.
2022 🇸🇬 Joined OnLoop as Full Stack Engineer, eventually became Delivery Lead. Met Felicia, the love of my life. Struggled with employment pass, traveled frequently between Singapore and South Africa.
2019 🇿🇦 Got Lead Software Engineer role at Mashlab, worked with major clients: Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Astron Energy, Grindrod Bank, Zilch. Built Cryptabis, launched Windhoek Lager contest platform. Also visited Singapore for first time, reconnected with Mother, attended first Formula 1 race. Parents were living in Singapore at this time.
2018 🇿🇦 Got my first job at Daisy Business Solutions building paperless workflows for Tiger Brands and Apple South Africa, implemented OCR systems.
2017 🇿🇦 Went to university, did partial program, left after first year to pursue hands-on development.
1998 🇿🇦 Born in South Africa - half Afrikaans (Mom's side) and half Portuguese (Dad's side), giving me EU citizenship for current opportunities.

Outside of work?
My girlfriend lives in Singapore, so I visit her a lot. Else, I spend time in other parts of Asia, the United States of America, and South Africa.
